Do you charge extra for weekends?
Saturday daytime is normal rates. Sundays are normal rates between 8 AM – 6 PM, after-hours rates outside that window.
How do I manually open the door if my opener died?
Pull the red emergency-release cord straight down until the trolley disengages, then lift the door by hand. If a spring is broken, do NOT attempt this, call us.

How do I manually open a garage door stuck closed?
Pull the red emergency release cord (hanging from the opener rail) down and toward the door, that disconnects the opener from the trolley. With the opener disengaged, you can lift the door by hand if the springs are intact. If the springs are broken, don't try, the door is 150–250 lbs without spring assist. Two adults can sometimes lift it enough for a car to get out.
What do I do if my garage door won't close and I need to leave?
Two fast options: (1) force-close the opener by pressing and holding the wall button until the door reaches the floor, this overrides safety sensors for one cycle only; (2) if the opener won't close at all, manually pull the door down with the release cord pulled, then slide the deadbolt (if you have one) or put a C-clamp on the track just above the bottom roller to lock the door. Then call us, we'll be out same day.

Yes, an open garage is one of the easier break-in routes. Until we get there, disconnect the opener (pull the red cord), manually lower the door, and secure it with a C-clamp on the track just above the bottom roller on each side. That buys you secure time until we arrive.

What to do right now if your door just failed
Quick safety steps that keep a bad situation from getting worse. Work through these while we're on our way.
- Don't run the opener. If you heard a loud bang, if the door is tilted, or if a cable is visibly off the drum, the opener isn't designed to lift an unbalanced door and can strip its gears in one cycle, turning a $200 cable fix into a $600 opener replacement.
- Pull the emergency release. The red cord hanging from the opener rail disconnects the opener from the door. Pull it down and toward the door. Now the door moves independently of the motor.
- If the door is stuck open, get it down. With the opener disengaged, lift the door manually if you can. If the springs are broken (door too heavy to lift), you may need a second person. Lower it slowly, released, it wants to fall.
- Secure the lowered door. Place a C-clamp or locking pliers on the track just above the bottom roller on each side. That prevents anyone from forcing the door up from outside until we arrive. A bit of plywood behind the clamp protects the track finish.
- Clear the area. Move kids, pets, and anything on the floor out from under the door. Broken springs under tension can throw shrapnel; a falling door is 150+ lbs of steel.
